In all my travels, when I see Beringer, I tend to shy away from it based on my past experiences with its lower lines. However, based on the difference in the label, as well as the price, I decided to give it a shot.

Upon tasting it, I was very surprised and satisfied; this was a wine that reminded me of Kendall Jackson's Grand Reserver Chardonnay and was almost two dollars left (now don't think that I am not drinking any more of the KJ).

This wine rates an 86 from the Wine Advocate, and as they say, 'reveals honeysuckle, pear, and tropical fruit characteristics in its elegant, fresh, medium-weight style.'

Being that this wine runs around $12 a bottle, I think that it's a wise choice for large parties and small intimate get-togethers.

So far, this wine is going to make it to my top ten Chardonnay list.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
