Honestly, I didn't really like this wine, but am giving
it a seven versus a six, because of two reasons. The first
is that I am suffering a summer cold, and while I really
love chenin blanc, I might not be able to accurately taste
it. And the second reason is that this just might be a
different way of preparing the grape, and one that I don't
quite fancy.
I will say that this wine has some wonderful flavors,
definitely of peach and pear, though I think that the
finish is not complimentary enough for this wine. What I
am saying it that there seems to be a little bit of a
citrus, if not an acidity, that I taste after it goes
down. Now, this could be a nuance of the peach aspect of
this wine, because in some ways, it did remind me on a
peach Jolly Rancher, but it just wasn't to my liking.
However, some of you out there might find this a
refreshing wine because of it's smoothness as well as it's
taste. Maybe I was just looking for a different taste, and
am being biased. And for that, I do apologize.
