Santa Julia makes several wines, and after tasting their Torrontes at a mixer for BPM in Baltimore at the Red Maple (shout out to Teddy Coates and BPM), I am game to try what other quaffs that they produce. So, while I was in Canal's and saw this wine in the dessert wines aisle, I thought that I'd give it a try.

First off, it has a very refreshing taste, and reminded me of a honey-raspberry mead [without the raspberries and strong alcohol content] that a friend in New Hampshire had given me. You also taste raisins, and perhaps maybe another fruit which I can't quite put my finger on.

It's smooth, without a syrupy texture, and has a nice finish and aftertaste.

I highly recommend this as a purchase, which now tells me that I need to start putting together an ideal list of wines in each category for people to have.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
