The last wine for me to taste at the Annual Brantwynn Experience, an annual wine event in Delaware sponsored by Greenville Wine, was a wonderful combination of Zinfandel (87%) and Green Valley Sangiovese (13%). As I owe it to myself, and to my audience, to review more red wines, this was one of the night's winners.

This Romanza has some of the most delectable flavors of blackberry that I have ever had in a wine, with what would also seem to be some type of very dark caramel. The taste actually builds in your mouth, and the drop off is superb. I would say that it's somewhere between a medium and a full body, and that of course means that they pearlescence of the wine exudes over your tongue and down your throat with the silkest flair.

And at just under $20 a bottle this wine is a steal.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
