I've had wines that have had Roussanne as part of the blend, but I've never had the Marsanne grape; well, knowingly that is. The first time I tried this wine I hated it, but maybe the fact that I opened it and then tried it the next day, letting either my expectations be open, or that the aeration of the wine overnight softened it, I have had to look at this wine in an entirely different light.

The wine in itself is dry, reminding me of a Sancerre, but it's not bad. To me, I get a little bit of minerality (shale) more than anything else, with maybe the faintest trace of citrus in it. All in all, it's more of a pleasant taste that definitely won't influence the taste of whatever you are having with it.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
