Sometimes, when I am out wine shopping, I tend to see
something that I normally am not used to seeing. This is
usually because I, like many others, tend to expect a
certain thing from a certain place. The surprise this time
was a Riesling from Chile.
But when you think about it, German type wines in South
America isn't really a stretch, now is it?
Anyway, I chose to pick this up for the price and the fact
that I liked the design of the label; simple yet elegant.
And the flavor actually came out pretty much the same.
Now, while most of us tend to open up a bottle and expect
to finish it that first day, I tend to like wines which
have been opened the prior day, and this one fit the bill.
I actually drank more of this wine over the next couple of
morning while doing some writing for an upcoming book of
mine.
Ultimately, I think that this wine, with it's slight tart
taste, resplendent of the citrus component of a Sauvignon
Blanc or a Rose, would go well with a nice fruit or seafood
salad.
