Two Sangiovese wines side by side, and this came out the winner. From Sicily, this wine is elegant, demure, regal, and approachable. The color is a deep purple not unlike the dyes used in Africa for the robes of European royalty. The taste is a very nice, middle-of-the-road combination of black cherries and black currant with the mildest hint of spice.

This wine would be perfect with just getting into something spicy, be it an Italian hoagie, a nice amount of pepporoni or salami, or a nice sliced pork dish. Or a nice dark chocolate.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
