Two Sangiovese wines side by side, and this came out
the winner. From Sicily, this wine is elegant, demure,
regal, and approachable. The color is a deep purple not
unlike the dyes used in Africa for the robes of European
royalty. The taste is a very nice, middle-of-the-road
combination of black cherries and black currant with the
mildest hint of spice.
This wine would be perfect with just getting into
something spicy, be it an Italian hoagie, a nice amount of
pepporoni or salami, or a nice sliced pork dish. Or a
nice dark chocolate.
