As you might already have garnered, I [and many other
people that I know in the wine industry] consider Pinot
Grigio to be like water, pretty much light and flavorless.
This, of course, is not to say that there aren't some
wonderful ones out there, as I have discovered.
This wine reminds me a little bit of a Verdejo in the
smallest bit of tart citrus (lemon) that I get on the tongue
as soon as I take a sip. It actually reminds me of water
with lemon on it, but automatically also feel a silk on your
tongue that is unique to wine. This wine is perfect for a
picnic, or with anything from fresh fruit, salads or grilled
chicken at a cookout. It also goes great with a nice book
while sitting outside, whether in the middle, or the end of
the day.
You'll notice that I rarely write reviews about 1.5L
bottles, but this actually wasn't something bad, and the
price is decent for all budgets.
