Yesterday, I was at Chaddsford Winery, and today I picked
up a bottle of their Spring Wines. It's 49% Vignoles, 31%
Vidal Blanc and 20% Seyval Blanc, and it's one of my favorites.
I really don't know how to describe the flavor of this
other than crisp. It reminds me of a combination of lemon,
lime and I would have to say honey (I am not a honey fan,
but the sweetness is decadent). The sweetness also reminds
me of nectarine.
This is definitely a wine to relax with, and nothing
else. If you want to combine it with a dessert or some
fresh fruits, especially melons, then do the damned thing!
It's perfect for all of that and is making me wish I either
had some watermelon or some Honeydew melon; I do have some
grapes in the fridge which I'll have to whip out in a few
minutes.
And this is definitely a wine for romantic interludes, if
not romancing a nice lady. While it's not sparkling, you
could still fill a glass with it and some raspberries and/or
strawberries!
