I've had the Macabeo grape in something else, but needed
to taste it completely on it's own. So, my last time at the
wine store, I decided to pick this one up. Definitely a
lesser known varietal here, this Spanish grape delivers
nicely with what I can gather the taste of lemons muted with
pineapple and with a hints of freshly cut grass in the nose.
This wine should be consumed with light fare, especially
seafood dishes as well as salads. This would probably be
divine with a paella or a nice cold seafood salad, either
lettuce based or pasta based.
I look forward to trying more wines with this grape in
it, especially something like a dessert variation.
