I must say that this wine was properly decanted before I tried it (it sat in a glass on the table next to my bed while I snoozed for several hours). This, of course, allowed the smell to waft slowly into my nostrils and share its secrets with me. And I smelled dark fruits, very deep and dark at that!

The taste is pretty much the same, filled with blackberries and dark plums, but also with a diversion into smoke and cocoa. This wine is a winner.

I would pair this with just about anything, from lighter fare to heavy fare, as it will impart its beauty to any dish, no matter what it is. This wine stands on it's on as well, and it does that quite astutely.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
