The bottle appealed to me, and so I purchased it. However, when I tasted it, I was very much not enamoured of it.

It seemed like a ruby colored crayon was added to grape must and then packaged as a wine. The label is wonderful, the taste lacking. It tastes like this wine also has either Cabernet Franc or Merlot blended in (or something less attractive than either) and for that, it is a big disappointment.

I can taste the beginning of plums and other dark fruits, but unless decanting saves its rep, this wine is booty!

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
