One day, I will visit the house of Beringer, and I will stay for a minute as if I had a month's billet at the Playboy Mansion. I have happened onto their 'Napa Valley' line as well as their higher grades of wine and am totally enthralled. This time around, I tried the Sauvignon Blanc.

The taste is more melon, Honeydew cut with Pineapple, with a gently buttered citrus that builds up but is not either sharp or acidic. In fact, this in some ways reminds me of the decadence of Lapis Luna's unoaked Chardonnay. The truth of this wine is that only 12% of it is aged in oak (French oak), which gives it that aspect.

The aroma is bright, which is a very good thing, reminding me of orchids. I highly recommend this wine.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
