At first sip, this wine reminds me of Christine Andrews Viognier, which is a favorite of mine, though I haven't had it in years. This wine is 65% Chardonnany, 25% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Viognier. And I can tell you, that small amount swings the whole taste in this wine.

What I taste is a little bit of green apple but also a nice undercurrent of passionfruit. The heft of this wine is nice, with a weight silkiness on your tongue. The color is a pale yellow and the viognier component gives it a very floral aroma.

Now, I will tell you that it was the label that captured my attention and then the back won over when I saw the ingredients. This wine is worthy of a try.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
