I just love me some Pinot Gris, as long as it's done the right way.  And Sokol Blosser has impressed me with their Evolution blend, so this was a no-brainer to pick up.

The color of this wine is a straw yellow and the mouth is just a little bit silky to the touch and taste.  The aroma reminds me of Granny Smith apples [which I have not had in quite awhile] and the taste is not overburdened with pears but also has some aspects of apricot.  There is just a little bit of twang to this wine, which to me reminds me of minerality.  It could be just a spice aspect as well.  And then of course, knowing those genius bastards, it could just be the slightest bit of something else like Silvaner.

This wine is definitely a winner.
