That's actually what's written at the top of the back label [or for that that you don't know, what technically is the front label].  This is the first time that I remember really having a Barbera wine and I am totally astounded!

The first thing that I get from this is lovely and juicy dark fruit.  I am talking dark plums and black cherries in great abundance; it's almost like candy for grown-ups.  Then let it go another fifteen seconds and I start to get some spice.  The mouth is soft velvet and the color is a a decadent royal purple.

Now the thing is that I don't remember if this wine cost more than ten dollars or just under it but this one is worth it. I could see this being great with anything with red sauce or any red meats.  I could even see this wine with fish like Grouper or Sturgeon; okay, I have never had sturgeon but one day we're going to have dinner where Al is going to break one down.

Phenomenal!!

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
