I have had several wines from Anakena and I am sure that I have written about them in the past, but those are some of the reviews that got lost.  When I saw this rosé made from Cabernet Sauvignon, I just had to pick it up.

Of all things, I am choosing to have it with sandwiches; in this case, one turkey ham on rye and one turkey breast on rye.  This wine is a spicy compliment with undertones of plums and raspberries.  The finish is quick, lasting no more than ten seconds, and the spice hit is also very quick, lasting just several seconds.  The color is a lovely pink and the texture and weight of this wine is light.

This is a winner.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
