So, I have seen this bottle for quite awhile, and today I made the decision to pick it up today.  As some of my goombas know, I do love the Sangiovese grape.  For those of you that really don't know, this is the grape that makes Chianti, as well as some other well-known Italian wines or wine styles.

This wine has an interesting taste, as it changes significantly from the first taste to the finish.  I taste smoke, if not something roasted, but the fruit aspect would be more strawberry, if you could grill it.  It's actually quite interesting, and would go great with spicy meats -- as my friend Elizabeth would say.  This would really be great with grilled vegetables, including hot peppers.  It might also go great with a nice bruschetta.  And talking about bruschetta, there is a wonderful restaurant in Stevens, Pennsylvania called Il Riveria -- okay, I don't know how good the food is -- that makes a great one that has black olives and doesn't cut the tomatoes very small.  It is to die for!

The color is a deep and dark pink which demands some attention.  The mouth of this wine is middle of the road; not too light and not too heavy.

Try this wine before you can't find it anymore!

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
