Lately, I have taken to the combination of Ugni Blanc and Colombard as it does make a nice white wine, and for those of you that drink yak -- cognac and/or armagnac --, these two comprise two of the three varietals used in that.  Usually, these wines can be had for less than ten dollars and this one mixes in 5% Gros Manseng, with the rest being 65% Ugni Blanc and 30% Colombard.

This wine is exceptionally fruity, making me think of passionfruit and pineapples.  The aroma is floral and the citrus is nice and not strong at all, meaning not overbearing.  The color is a straw yellow and the mouth is slightly silky.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
