While at an industry wine tasting last year
ran by Southern Wine and Spirits (thanks to Greg Cohen on
the invite), I came across a Viognier offering by
Ironstone, the makers of the much ballyhooed
Symphony that I love so much.
Upon tasting it, I was overcome with the
most pleasant emotions that a wine could bring a person.
Filled with a taste comprised of white peaches,
honeysuckle, lychee, and even a hint of mango, this smooth
operator slides down your tongue and tickles the back of
your throat.
This year, while making an attempt to order
a case, my wine store initially came up empty, finding out
that Ironstone dropped their Viognier, and some chick,
Christine Andrew, took it into their calender. Well, they
did get me a case, and I ultimately found out that
Christine Andrew is a sublabel of Ironstone.
This is a wine worth getting one case of,
and it's also a ladykiller as well. I just can't wait to
start exploring the rest of their catalog.
