This wine is a sin as the fruit is so forward it borders on making me think about Jolly Rancher candy.   I don't think that I have ever tasted a Zinfandel quite like this one.  The high alcohol content is only noticed in the finish [or in the nose] but again the cherry flavor even covers this up.  The color is a nice deep crimson and that finish lasts for a good twenty seconds, with the potency (alcohol) lasting another twenty as least.  This wine is great and would be a great introductory wine for many new palates to what Zinfandel can really be.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
