I taste dark cherries, a touch of leather and tobacco and a whiff of smoke.  Tobacco in the nose and a finish that rounds out with a little bit of coffee, just a little bit.  The breakdown for this wine is 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 9% Malbec and 8% Petit Verdot.  What is interesting is normally if you get about 6% Petit Verdot, the wine gets/inherits a sultry smokyness, but this wine doesn't have it like that.   The flavor dropoff is pretty quick as well.    The thing is that as this wine ages, it should turn into another beast entirely.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
