And this wine seems to be too Malbec and Cab Franc heavy as well. As I have supplemented my love for Zinfandel with a newly found affinity for classic Bordeaux [style] blends, I have been trying new wines everytime that I do a wine run. I decided to try this Double T as it was around $18, but in the end I am disappointed. I didn't like this wine the first time I had it, nor one, two or three days after opening; the trick here is that sometimes a wine opens up after being well oxygenated.
What I don't like about this wine -- and I say me, because I am sure that this wine has plenty of fans -- is the puckering dryness which I attribute to the Malbec and the wrong amount of tannins in this wine. It lacks the full-bodied juicyness that I so love and makes this wine very unapproachable for me.
Need I even talk about color, nose or texture? Nope. However, if you really like a dry Malbec, and something light to medium bodied, this wine might be for you.
