I know that this bottle looked familiar, and I chose to pick it up again.  This time, it was the 2012 vintage versus the 2011.

This wine is made from 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon.  Oddly enough, I chose to have this while eating some spicy collard greens made with smoked turkey wings.

It's funny that this wine is of course made from the same varietals used to make Sauternes and this vintage has a sweetness that creeps up slowly in the finish.  This wine is just a little weighty on the gullet, but would be a nice companion to both spicy foods and foods that have citrus components, especially Mandarin oranges.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
