Some wines play themselves small like they're the guy in the back of the room pulling all of the strings.  They have no need to preen and push their chests out to the world, but the know that in the end, they'll win.  This wine is one of those.  While the flavor profile is muted and the wine doesn't have a heavy weight on it, it's smooth combination of dark cherry, a touche of smoke and a hidden intercepting fist of alcohol allows it to careess you slowly and lure you into it's winning gambit.

Note that this is not my favorite zin, but it is one that I respect and love.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
