While I have been enjoying the pleasures of a good Zinfandel, I came across this wine at the annual portfolio tasting for Capital Wine and Spirits. To be honest with you, I don't know which one I had, as there are three different ones. However, let's start with this one.
This is excellence, a wine that is the inkiest purple and has a laid back composition of tobacco, black pepper, a little green pepper and some spice. It sits in the back of your throat and just stays there with some weight, forcing you to indulge in both it's power amd whatever fruit you might glean from it. You also get the aspect of French Oak, since it is aged in it for nine months.
This is not a wine that you can guzzle through, but something that you have to take time to savor. I myself opened the bottle sometime around 6ish, and it's 8:17 and I have only consumed three glasses.
