So, I am in the store the other day and a woman is looking for this wine, so I help her find it; I know the label style so it was easy to find. But I looked at the price and decided to give it a try.
I am happy that I did, and it's the French Oak that hooks this wine up; it could also be the American Oak as well as I have to remember which one does what, but I think it's the French. I had a Primitivo over in Italy which had these aspects as well, so I know that it's the wood!
This wine is a little luscious but very spicy with the anise and some pepper undercurrents. The smell is intoxicating and this would probably be best with steak. The finish is strong and holds in the back of your throat. Great wine.
