I gave this wine a 7 simply because it lacks what I have come to expect in a Ripasso, meaning I wanted more ooomph in this.  As I do love Ripasso, and I drink several other wines from this producer, I was underwhelmed upon tasting this.  While the nose is strong, the flavors of this wine are too muted to be a serious contender as a Ripasso.  You know what, the structure is good and filled with some well constructed dark fruits, so I am going to raise my rating to an 8.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
