Malbec, like a Pinotage, is an interesting wine that for the most part, I feel that people make too strong. This is to say that for all of the ones that I have had so far, I have not been a fan at all. Then along comes this Malbec...

When you pour this wine, the first thing that you notice is the deep, rich purple hue. This in itself is such a beautiful thing to behold. When you smell it, there seems to be a combination of blueberries with something else; the distributor said plums and strawberries comprise the aroma and the flavors.

And when you taste it, you get the smoothest Malbec that you have ever had, or that I have had so far... thus, I dubbed it the money shot. The taste in itself is unique, but best if you don't taint it by eating anything fruity beforehand.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
