Down on my luck and basically between
paychecks, I still needed to have me a couple of bottles of
white wine available for casual drinking, so on my way to
NJ for gas, I stopped into Canal's in Pennsauken for my
fix.
I definitely would say that my fancy right
now is Sauvignon Blanc (SB), with the occasional South
American Chardonnay. And we all know that the best
releases right now are coming from Chile, Argentina and
from Australia and New Zealand in the South Pacific.
Seeing a bottle at a good price is one
thing that definitely attracts my attention, and I believe
that this bottle was $6.99 or less (oh, where is my
receipt).
Like a good SB, this has a very crisp and
rewarding citrus flavor composed of grapefruit and lime
that delights your tastebuds. The flavor falloff at the
end is not to quick and not to slow, but it allows you to
easily taste whatever else you are having without
overshadowing it.
This wine is definitely a good buy for
casual dining, a cookout, or a nice romantic picnic.
